I hardly need an excuse to shop for new jewelry or handbags, but hey, when they support an amazing cause, I have to buy them, right? Here are a ton I’m coveting for more reasons than one.

Hearts.com is a new-to-me site that works with more than 2000 artisans all over the world to make a positive impact on world issues and support people who need it most. And their original designs actually help the environment too, thanks to low-impact manufacturing processes and responsible materials.

Here’s just a few of my favorite items. Be sure to click over and read the stories and see some of the women who actually make them.

above:(Bone and Arrow Necklace, $32, made from fairly sourced bone supporting a local cooperative of Indian artisans in urban environments)

(Sunshine Anywhere Tote, $82, fair trade and sustainable to support Indonesian artisans)

(Half and Half Bangle, $24, supports women artisans in a Fair Trade cooperative in Mumbai.)

For the Gold Earrings, $18, supporting Indian artisans who make them by hand.

I love that you can search Hearts.com by world causes, materials, even the process (like Made in the USA), all while feeling great that your purchase made a different in someone’s life and the earth, not just to your wardrobe. -Kristen
