Um, I’ve seen what I look like in the morning if I haven’t washed off my makeup…and it’s downright scary. So I’m always on the lookout for awesome (and affordable) makeup removers. Here are four of our faves–just in time for Halloween faces or even a game of “beauty parlor” with your kids–each a different price point.

La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution
This light, magical liquid contains something called micelles, which lift dirt and makeup off the skin with the sweep of a cotton ball. Unlike a toner or other alcohol-based removers, though, La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution doesn’t dry out the skin–and you don’t even need water, which is a plus. It’s sensitive enough to be used on those trendy smoky eyes too. While it is around $20, it’s comparable to the high end brands that can cost double. ($20.99, soap.com)
$$
Klorane Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower Extract
I’ve been using the creamy Klorane Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower Extract in the blue bottle for years now. I totally swear by it for eye makeup. And regardless of how many times I’ve gotten it into my eyes by accident (like, a lot), it never stings or burns. A little also goes a long way! And gotta love the price tag. ($11, Drugstore.com)

Neal’s Yard Organic Facial Wipes
I’m a sucker for grown-up wipes. Anything to make the washing up routine easier gets a star in my book. The Organic Facial Wipes from Neal’s Yard get rid of makeup and dirt fast, using all organic ingredients, including aloe vera and white tea. The wipes themselves are made from 100% biodegradable organic cotton, a step up from most washcloths I own! I’m a huge Neal’s Yard fan, their new anti-aging cream is amazing! ($9/25 wipes, Neal’s Yard consultants or NYR Organic)

EO Everyone FACE – Remove Facial Wipes
New to us is EO’s facial wipes from their all-natural skin care line. It’s unscented and very mild, using all plant-based incredients, but still does a nice job on getting off the day’s makeup, including non-waterproof mascaras and eyeliners. Our editor Liz swears by them on the road, and it’s nice to know that in addition to the natural ingredients, it’s cruelty-free, and free of parabens, gluten, sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate and other icky stuff–and was the very first certified Non GMO beauty company. At this price, keep one in your travel bag-it’s a lifesaver. ($6.99/30-pack, EO Products)
