As you can tell, we’re gearing up for Mother’s Day around here (our gift guide will be up soon, promise!) and just in time, we got wind of this exclusive collaboration between Shopbop and the fashion elite to support a brilliant cause. Born Free has a very specific mission to end mother-to-child HIV transmission at birth, something that is entirely achievable. To help make that happen, 22 major designers including Diane Von Furstenberg, Prada, Stella McCartney, Tori Burch, Rachel Roy, Marni and more, have parntered with ShopBop and Vogue, and created exclusive designs with 100% of the profits going right to Born Free.
One thing they have in common: Every designer is a mother herself. (Go moms!) Also, they’ve all worked with original prints from Kenyan-born visual artist Wangechi Mutu, to give each piece a distinct African flair while still staying true to their own modern design sensibilities.
Nearly every item falls in the $45 to $250 range with some splurges and some steals. Yes, an Alexander McQueen baby blanket is way spendy at $185; but a $245 Prada skirt is unreal in the world of Prada. Here, just a few of my favorites:

To top it off, the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund is generously matching the total purchase price of all products sold (and any other donations you might want to make) up to $500,000. Need an excuse to get mom–or yourself–a designer Mother’s Day gift? This is a pretty great one.
