Trying to get four kids out the door in the morning means I need a super quick, super easy makeup routine (hello, time saving beauty products) which is why the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Sticks I picked up during a rare solo trip to Sephora a few weeks ago are my new favorites. And in blue, even!
I usually just pop on a bit of my blush as eyeshadow for my weekday look–if I can even call it “my look”–but now that I have these sticks, my eyes have way more pop in the same amount of time. As in, none.
The tip on the Pop Eye Sticks is wider than an eyeliner but smaller than a lot of the eyeshadow sticks out there, which makes it super versatile; just twist up like a lipstick and then apply it as you would an eyeliner. For me that means lining my lid at my upper lashes, and then halfway across my lower lashes in charcoal. Then, if I feel like it, I’ll add a bit of traditional eyeliner for some definition. But on most days, I just pop on some mascara and go.
If I want a sexier look, for a date night perhaps, I use it more like a traditional eyeshadow; it makes doing a smokey eye really easy.
The eye sticks glide on really smoothly, which isn’t always the case with products like this, and because it’s a thicker tip, I don’t even have to spend time smudging. Just keep in mind that they’re definitely on the glittery side, but these very tired eyes have actually benefited from that bit of brightness. And because the product is a hybrid eyeliner-eyeshadow, I invested in some fun colors, like a teal mermaid shimmer that I’d never normally have considered.
I love feeling a little more pulled together on a daily basis without having to do a ton of extra work. Score.
