Ooh, it’s always exciting when TOMS releases new shoe designs — remember those glow-in-the-dark holiday beauties? The gorgeous spring TOMS? The (yes!) politically-themed shoes? But the new TOMS x Disney shoe collection that was just released, just might be worth getting more excited about than ever.

Andnot just because of how cute the shoes are. It’s also about what inspired them.

The new Disney x TOMS collection for women and children (and babies too) features beautiful, vintage illustrations of Cinderella, Snow White (coming in August), Sleeping Beauty, and even Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother. But these aren’t just any illustrations.

Sourced from the Walt Disney Archives, these rare sketches were all created between the mid-1930s and 1959 by a group of behind-the-scenes female Disney artists. This largely-unsung group of women artists inked and painted animation cels to bring the characters and scenes to life.

In other words, these artists made their male counterparts’ stuff look even better. Now, decades later, TOMS is sharing their work for “those who break glass ceilings, not glass slippers.” Which is pretty sweet.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs launched on August 23. And on October 18, TOMS and Disney will release a special six-piece holiday shoe collection.

Oh, the suspense! Too bad you can’t FastPass shoes, huh?
