I feel like the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has come around at just the right time. While it may be still be sweltering out, there’s something about browsing fall’s hot trends that gets us pumped for sweater weather. (And uh, lower A/C bills.)

I’ve owned a similar “cheapie” faux moto jacket for years and people ask where I got it because a great jacket is a great jacket at any price. It jazzes up nearly any outfit, and you’ll get so much use out of it! Plus sizes avail too. ($64.90 on sale, regularly $98) Psst…notice the faux animal print skirt? You’ll be seeing a lot of that this year.
Vince Camuto Gigetta Bootie
Pointy toes are back, and so are angular cut-outs and accents like the ones down the sides. If you want an everyday, on-trend, work-to-nighttime bootie, grab this one! Vince Camuto makes my favorite chic but comfy shoes and you’ll get so much use out of this pair. ($99.90 on sale, reg $149.95)
Adidas Gazelle Sneaker
Looking to trade up your ratty sneakers? Loads of sneakers and athletic shoes on sale, from high-performance to “I’m just looking cute running errands.” With thick soles so in right now (and so comfy!) I’d go for a pair of these Adidas kicks — just order a size down because they run large. ($59.90 on sale, regularly $80)

I don’t know how practical the ultra-mini bag trend is this fall, for those of us without personal assistants to carry around all our crap. This bag strikes a nice balance in size, and it hits another big trend for fall/winter 2019: faux animal prints. Big win! ($185.90 on sale, regularly $278)
Kate Spade Oakwood Street Chandra Leather Tote
I have this exact bag in black (or at least it’s really similar; sometimes it’s hard to tell!) and I swear by it. So much so, I would absolutely get it in this gorgeous caramel color. It’s the perfect 4-season neutral, and it’s big enough to tote stuff around without weighing you down. ($218.90 on sale, regularly $328)
And no, you cannot have too many handbags — especially handbags bought on sale. Look around for even more.
BA&SH Clotilde Floral Print Dress
If you want to splurge on one designer dress, I’m in love with this floral print with just a hint of metallic. You can totally wear it right now, but it will look amazing into the fall with chunky booties and…well, see the moto jacket below. ($299 on sale, regularly $465)
Leith Long-Line Cardigan
I live in long cardis three seasons out of the year, because they’re so versatile. This one is beautifully shaped at a great price, comes in 5 colors, and I like the longer knee-length that’s back this season. (Just make sure you have a longer coat to cover it up all the way in the winter!) Even better: Leith supports women worker empowerment through HERproject, so it’s a nice brand to support right back. Live-in High Waist Leggings
Ditch the cheapies that show uh, everything, through the fabric and upgrade to Nordstrom’s super-popular pair (or two or three) while it’s on sale. You know that feeling of brand new, still-stretchy, still-black black leggings? Man I love that feeling. ($38.90 on sale, regularly $59)
True & Co V-Neck Wireless Bra
I am on team True & Co for their seamless, comfy-enough-to-sleep-in bras. If you’ve been wanting to give it a try, do it now while they’re on sale. ($31.90 on sale, regularly $49)
Note: If you’re a larger-busted gal like me, opt for a full-cup True & Co bra. (I’ve been meaning to do a review but I’m behind! TLDR: It’s very comfortable, and offers more support than you’d, think but isn’t like a substitute for an underwire.) It’s only on sale in a racer tank style and I can’t say that it would give you great support for aerobic workouts, but for walking or yoga, I bet it’s great. ($37.90, regularly $58)
