Sometimes kids get in trouble, not because they’re doing bad, but because they want to do good, though they just haven’t quite figured out all the boundaries yet. It’s such a good reminder for parents.
It also happens to be the premise of the wonderful new picture book from Luvvie Ajayi Jones (released today!) called Little Troublemaker Makes a Mess. It’s already Amazon’s #1 new release in children’s books about values.
And of course, you can find it at your favorite local indie bookseller as well.
I have wanted to interview 3x bestselling author, TED Talk phenom, and “professional troublemaker” Luvvie Ajayi Jones since — oh, pretty much forever. This turned out to be the perfect opportunity. It was such a treat talking to her firsthand about about what it means to make good trouble, tips for talking to kids when they break the rules, and why it’s important to teach our children that it’s not only possible to recover from big mistakes, it’s important that we don’t let them define us.
Oh — and be sure to stick around for Luvvie’s confession about the time she tried to do something good herself, and it turned it into a major “face palm” incident. (Let’s just say it slightly traumatized our engineer John!)
Listen right now, and make sure you’re a Spawned podcast subscriber so that you never miss an episode.
You can follow @Luvvie on Instagram, find her Professional Troublemaker podcast wherever you get your podcasts, and sign up for her LuvvLetter newsletter to keep up with everything she’s doing.
