Baby Star, not just for newborns anymore

Baby Star dress in bold modern printI’m always kind of bummed when I fall in love with a line of baby blankets or clothes and realize there’s nothing left for me from that label once my kids turn toddlers. So it’s nice that Portland’s Baby Star has been taking their crowd-pleasing modern prints and expanding them beyond just blankets and newborn basics.

The double-lined baby dresses with rick rack trim and a cute little pocket on the front are just adorable, and you’ll find a great selection of them at Alex Casey Baby to get you through the rest of summer–especially if you are blessed, like I, with two children who manage to fully outgrow their wardrobes six weeks before the season ends. Although that mod Kaleidescope print (shown) would look smashing going into fall, especially with a little denim jacket over the shoulders or a white tee underneath, and you can just swap out the bloomers for leggings or even jeans.

Unfortunately the line stops at 24 months (although they do run a bit on the big side). But I’m hoping Baby Star will further expand it, because when a sample came in the mail, my 4 year-old was hoping it was in her size She’s small, but not that small. -Liz
