Cardboard Pirate Ship

Cardboard cottages are more common than refrigerator boxes these days, and cardboard castles are no longer hard-to-find real estate. But we’ve found a new line of structures that go beyond the typical rose-covered cottage– and that boys will enjoy, too.

Box Creations offers a playhouse and a castle, but more importantly, they also have a pirate ship, a space shuttle, and a carriage.

Each one is made of eco-conscious recycled materials and can fit 2 – 3 kids, be they buccaneers, astronauts, or Robin Hood on a mission. The pre-printed playhouses also come with four washable markers, but you know your kids will demand more than that.

I’ve reviewed several similar products, but it’s the cardboard pirate ship that truly wins me over. I love the subtle shark fin, the anchor, the wheel, and the line drawings that provide just enough structure to make it fun. The carriage would be adorable with some ribbons and those giant stuffed horses that are all the rage. And the space shuttle–which is currently out of stock– is just perfect for your junior Luke Skywalker.

I look at these playhouses, and I see hours of decorating and peaceful playing on cold winter days, as my children force their toys to walk the cardboard plank. And I like that.

Each cardboard playhouse is $29.99 at the Box Creations website.

Love the pirate ship. We recently used a simple cardboard house for a photo shoot and the kids absolutely loved it. My two year old thinks it is the neatest thing since chocolate milk.
