If you’re a LEGO fan, a fine art photography fan, a kid, or just a cool adult (which, of course you are) you’re going to flip over this exhibit.

Nathan Sawaya, an inspiring LEGO sculptor, has put his talents together with those of photographer Dean West to create the InPieces Collection currently on display at New York’s OPENHOUSE gallery. And wow, is it cool.

Look closely at the photos, and you just may catch a dog, a beach flip-flop, an umbrella, a fluffy white cloud, or even an entire red gown on a woman made out of LEGOs, each in the midst of an otherwise realistic, if artfully composed world.

My own kids have been spending a lot of time on the website, playing what they call “Find the LEGO”–kind of like a Where’s Waldo, only with colorful plastic bricks. If you don’t get a chance to see the exhibit in person, at least check out the site. Your kids will love it. And, well, you. –Liz

See the InPieces Collection of photography now through March 17 at the OPENHOUSE Gallery pop-up in SoHo.

Cool random fact: You think your kids like LEGOs? Nathan Sawaya has more than 2.5 million bricks on hand to be able to create his sculptures. Learn more about him at brickartist.com
