My kids have definitely developed an obsession with paper dolls since I unearthed the ultimate guide to free printable paper dolls on the web. But if you’re willing to spend just a few dollars, I’ve found some that are seriously fantastic. And uh…not just for kids.

The paper dolls by illustrator Clauda Varosio are mindblowingly fun, because they’re based on pop culture icons from David Bowie to the Big Lebowski, and even (be still my heart) Annie Hall. They’re as arcane as Vincent Gallo from Buffalo 66, and as sweet as Holly Golightly which would happen to be adorable in a little girl’s room hung as art.

Now the truth is they actually are art. Meant for framing. But if you were to order one for hanging, there’s no reason you couldn’t first copy it, cut it out and let the kids play Ziggy Stardust Puts On His Purple Flowered Dress and Jams. –

  1. OMG, I have been looking everywhere for something like this. I had them when I was young and wanted to get some for my daughter. I’m definitely going to print these out. Thanks. Endless fun.
