This year my New Year’s resolution is—you’re gonna be shocked, I know—to lose ten pounds. Or maybe let’s just round it up to 20. Ready to talk Pilates videos?
If you’re in a similar boat, I think you’ll love these new ones I’ve found created specifically for expectant moms and those of us trying to lose postpartum weight. Even if our babies are now toddlers. Or older.
Erica Ziel is a master Pilates instructor (and Heidi Klum lookalike, but don’t let that deter you) and the creator of the Knocked-Up Fitness series. I tried out the After Baby DVD, and man, are my arms sore while I write this. Beginner and advanced DVDs include workouts for arm sculpting, toning with squats, core, functional Pilates, plyo butt sculpting (yes, please!) and cardio intervals. There’s also a workout schedule at three levels, so you know what to focus on each day. Additionally, there’s a PDF download of the workouts available if you can’t get to the DVD, but honestly, for $39, I’d say just jot down the routine on your own notepad if you need help remembering it..
As a mom who’s sometimes frazzled, always short on time, and a bit embarrassed about the way I’ve gotten out of shape, to be honest, I love Erica’s style. She’s sweet and encouraging while still being motivating.
If you’re looking for a Jillian Michaels workout, bootcamp style, this isn’t for you. But for me, it’s a great fit. Plus a typical workout is just about 30 minutes — depending on how many times your kids interrupt you.
The Knocked-Up Fitness Prenatal DVDs and the Knocked-Up Fitness After Baby DVDs are available from our Amazon affiliate.
