I have never been what you’d call a fitness guru. I never mastered downward dog, and I haven’t had a gym membership in years. But about two years ago, with 40lbs of my third baby weight to lose and my sister-in-law’s bridesmaid’s dress to wear (I know, cry for me) I decided I had to do something. And so I tried out fitness guru Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred.
Well wouldn’t you know it, few dietary modifications and a very mom friendly 20-minute workout every day later and I lost 12lbs in a month. Since then, I’ve been one of her biggest fans–I even started a workout blog called The Shredheads–so you can bet with another baby and another round of baby weight to lose, I was anxious to try her newest DVD.
If you don’t have a ton of free time, or a celebrity schedule that allows you to spend half a day with a trainer while the nanny watches the kids, this is such a great DVD.
Split up into two challenging but fairly quick 30-minute workouts that you can fit in at naptime or before the kids wake up, the 6 week Six-Pack is definitely not just for abs. It’s actually an amazing full body workout that includes cardio, strength, and abs, all with Jillian’s
trademark “no funny business” commentary. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a
sense of humor. I also like that unlike the 30 Day Shred which entails a lot of
jumping, 6 week Six-pack is pretty low impact.
Now that doesn’t mean you
won’t be “gargling your heart,” as Jillian says. Trust me. You will. But
if it yields results anything like the 30 Day Shred (six pack or not!) did for me, it will definitely
be worth it. -Kristen

I’m also in the sister-in-law’s wedding situation (about 4 months after the birth), but I’m going to be having a C-section. Any suggestions for programs to try?
Um, thank you! Purchased 6W6P because vacay is in 7 weeks! And, I already love #30DayShred and the Fitbit. Awesome.
Heart you guys!
