If you’ve been growing out your grey hair, or have already finished like me, you’ll probably notice that your new grey hair requires slightly different products for styling. I’ll be honest: I feel pretty fortunate that my current grey hair texture is the same as my pre-grey hair, but I know that’s not the same for everyone.
Over the past few months, I’ve been using these 3 products pretty much exclusively and I have to say, that along with an occasional purple shampoo rinse (which I’m doing way less after overdoing it a bit – oops!) and an every-other-week hair mask, these have worked pretty well in maintaining what I like to think is nice, healthy grey hair. Here’s hoping they do the same for you.

I discovered the EVOLVh superfinish polishing balm from Lisa at This Organic Girl and I’m so glad I did. I run about a dime-sized amount through my hair when it’s wet, and it helps keep the frizz away, naturally. What’s great is that you can use it on dry hair too, to give your hair a bit of a refresh. And it’s so light that I barely even know it’s there.
I’ve been searching for a heat protectant to use on dry hair, since I often air dry after my shower, then curl or flat iron it. I grabbed this Perfect Iron Spray by Alterna on a whim on a trip to Ulta, and so far, I’m really enjoying it. I spray it on the section I’m working on, give it about 30-seconds to dry, then use my curling iron or flat iron as it does make your hair a bit wet. Since using it, I’ve definitely noticed that my curls seem to hold better and look a lot softer after styling.

I finish off my hair with this Shine Serum by Aluram, which I got at my local hair salon. I use it to tame any flyaways, and just give my hair a bit of smoothness and shine once I’m done with the styling. You don’t use very much, so this little bottle has lasted me a very long time. I think it smells great, and it’s the perfect antidote to static hair syndrome!
