If you’re like me, you got to your mid-40s and suddenly started to get weird period symptoms and sort-of hot flashes and night sweats and asked yourself, “Wait, is this perimenopause?” Well, we’re not the only ones. Even though perimenopause happens to all of us women and menstruators, there’s still so much mystery behind it. At least, that’s what I thought until I spoke with Dr. Makeba Williams, a professor of medicine and specialist in midlife and menopausal healthcare.

Turns out she, and many of her colleagues, have been researching perimenopause (and menopause) and know how to help women. Unfortunately, this knowledge is not so widely spread amongst the medical community, and women/menstruators are left to advocate for themselves.

That’s why I’m so excited about this podcast episode because I really believe the information shared here could really help a whole lot of us who feel like we’re suffering in silence.

You can listen right now to my conversation with Dr. Williams, but also, make sure you’re a subscriber so you never miss an episode.

Let's talk about perimenopause with Dr. Makeba Williams | Spawned

Just some of the topics we cover

– What are the signs and symptoms of perimenopause?

– What supplements work, if any?

– What are the effective therapies that do work?

– What’s typical (mood swings, weight gain) during perimenopause and menopause?

And so much more!
