If it’s not clear from our past artwork picks, we often lean towards designs with a sense of humor. Not like a big pair of Groucho glasses – just a subtle wink. (Although if someone does do Groucho glasses art, I wouldn’t be averse to taking a look.)
I’d say that the berry monster series of prints from Brazilian-born fine artist Aline Yamanda fits the bill. Her shop YumiYumi features signed and dated prints of her original little creatures, including the Lychee Berry Monsters shown here. If I saw this hanging in a child’s room, maybe in a set along with monster friends Cherry Berry and Loquat Berry monsters, I would smile every time I looked at the wall. Nice way to look at your kid’s art. –Liz
