I’m all about outdoor entertaining in the summertime — especially this year — except the one thing that hasn’t gone away are the mosquitos. Nothing kills a mood quite like your guests all slapping at themselves while trying to talk one another. So I had to run here to share these string lights I found, with mosquito repellent built right in!
I had a chance to try them out and they’ve been a game changer.
You may know Tiki for their top-rated fire pit (oh hey, amazing last-minute Father’s Day gift idea!) and their new Tiki BightFighter LED string lights are just as they sound — warm, pretty, LED string lights that alternate with small pods of “bight fighting” mosquito repellent. So you get that festive backyard vibe (or back porch, or roof deck, or city fire escape), without the pests.

Even better, you have the ability to turn on the lights only, the mosquito repellent only, or both, and each pod should give you about an 11-foot diameter protection against mosquitos for 200 hours or so. (Correction: The lights function in lights-on only, lights and mosquito repellent on, and off mode.)
In my experience, they’ve been fantastic at keeping the mosquitos away — no bites! Usually we see lots of bugs hovering around lights on the porch at night, and we didn’t when our lights were on.
But the company offers some other cool solutions too that are worth checking out.

While the BightFighter lights are exclusively available on their site, you can find lots of other mosquito repellent-lighting combo solutions on Amazon — and to be honest, they are a lot more accessible if you’re on a budget. (High-tech bug fighting technology definitely comes at a price.)
Their BiteFighter Tiki Torch, above, is just over $18 and the refillable fuel is pretty affordable too. Though probably not the best bet for urban patios.

Of course, you can always go old school when it comes to protecting your guest: I always keep a stylish basket near by back door, filled with sunscreen and bug spray for guests to use. But these string lights are so pretty and so easy, I’ll definitely be using them every time we’re hosting friends outside this summer
You can purchase the Tiki BightFighter LED string lights, exclusively at the Tiki website starting June 17, and find the BiteFighter Tiki Torch and other mosquito-killing mood-saving products on Amazon. Thanks to the company for providing Cool Mom Picks with a unit for editorial consideration.
Their refill pod seem so expensive $72 for 3.
Do you know if we can use their refill liquid inside these hanging pods?
Thanks
