I am exactly 0% Spanish, but Iโll be celebrating Cinco de Mayo tonight and blasting some cool tunes like yesterdayโs Cool Mom Tech Download of the Week and the latest Spanish-language kidsโ music release from CMP favorite Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, Aqui, Alla. Lucky, Alisha, and friends will have you kicking up your heels for a family fiesta faster than you can say uno, dos, tres.
Starting with a party-song if I ever heard one, Viva La Pachanga will leave you breathless from dancing, but hold onto your sombrero because there is more to come. The western sounds of the mostly instrumental รrale! are, as the title says, awesome, and a Spanish-language ode to the little spider is peppy, not creepy.
Spanish speakers will feel right at home with this album en espaรฑol, but one of the best things about it is that, even for those of us who donโt know the language, the music still translates into pure fun for families of all backgrounds. The beats are danceable, the instrumentation is multi-layered and joyful, and Lucky Diaz has a voice that is so appealing and likable, it is clear to me that these Latin GRAMMY winners are ready for another statue. And youโll appreciate their versatility when you hear the pretty love song Tรบ Eres Mi Amor and the wistful title song Aqui, Alla which slow things down to a more mellow tempo.
Download the entire album for todayโs Cinco de Mayo fiesta, or grab a hard copy from Amazon, and youโll have a collection of songs youโll want to hear long after the last of the guacamole is gone.
