Hooray! It’s the launch our 2015 Valentine’s Day Gift Guide, jam packed with the coolest Valentine’s gift ideas for everyone on your list. We’re starting today with personalized Valentine’s gifts, and we scoured the web to find the very coolest. (Hope you agree!)
Not that there’s anything wrong with a monogrammed scarf, but you hardly need our help with that. Just be sure to check the shipping dates and order policies for each of these shops so your gift arrives in time for the big day.
We’re so happy that our guide is sponsored by Kindle Love Stories, a vibrant Amazon community that chats about the best recommendations and deals for fun romance reads. Visit their Facebook page and you can’t help but smile right away like we did. In fact, you might find a little literary escape for yourself this Valentine’s Day.
All gift ideas have been determined by our editorial staff. There is no compensation for recommendations.

Personalized Mix Tape Cookies ($28/box of 7, Manjar)
If your love was a child of the 80s–or even if not–you’ll both enjoy this genius twist on personalized cookies, featuring a Walkman and six “mix tapes” featuring your own custom messages on the labels. How much do we love this?
Custom Couple Portrait ($100, Brown Eyes)
We found this wonderful Etsy shop a few months back when we put together a list of modern custom family portraits that we loved. The great thing about this artist: She will ship the print within one to two weeks after your approval, so you can still make Valentine’s Day if you order now. Just be sure to ask about rush orders.
Custom hidden message necklace ($336/3 letters, Beth Macri)
When we first found these amazing necklaces, we were blown away by the concept: from the front they look like just a funky bunch of meta bars, but flip them to reveal initials, an XO, or a short message up to about 12 characters. And because they keep lots of letters and characters in stock, there’s a good chance you can get even your custom order shipped quickly. But don’t wait too long!
Boomf custom Instagram photo marshmallows ($19, Boomf)
Straight out of the UK, Boomf makes what they call “magic mallows,” customized with your own artwork or Instagram photography. Since we first wrote about them, shipping time has been reduced to about 7 days to the US, but something tells us, these are worth the wait.
Custom engraved bottles of Champagne or Whiskey (Starts at $44.99 for Champagne, $55.99 for Whiskey, at The Engraved Bottle)
A bottle of wine or his (or her) favorite whiskey, wine or Champagne is always a welcome gift, but you can turn it up a notch by personalizing the bottles with up to 3 lines engraved thanks the folks at The Engraved Bottle. Even add a monogram or your own artwork for an extra $35. And the brands are actually pretty awesome. This is such an extra special touch on something you could share together on Valentine’s Day–or any other day, really.
One Valentine’s Day gift that’s really special is an escape. Like a new Kindle Fire HD 7, loaded up with a whole library of romance reads from Kindle Love Stories, and of course, a little time to herself to read them all. Maybe while you rub her feet. With expensive oils. In the South of France. (Too far? Not really.) If you need some romantic ebook ideas, stop by the Kindle Love Stories blog. Or if you’re shopping for the woman who who knows just what she wants, let her personalize her new tablet by herself with an Amazon Gift Card.
Personalized Longchamp Le Pliage Nylon Bag (This style $130 at Longchamp USA; $17 for embroidery or $8 for embossed monogram)
Talk about a personalized gift–head to the Longchamp site and check out the customization options for their iconic nylon totes and bags. You can choose your color and accent stripe color, the size, handle shape, hardware metal, and even the style and color of the monogram. Just make sure to get it right! Then again, it’s Longchamp–take it from us, you pretty much can’t go wrong.
Custom stamped You + Me heart necklace ($90, Metalicious)
We love so much of the work from Stephanie of Metalicious, whose work we featured in last year’s list of edgy Valentines’ Day jewelry. But she has a sweet side too, and this solid sterling You + Me necklace is just so cool for someone special on Valentine’s Day. There’s also a smaller personalized heart necklace with a single initial for $68. Be sure to place orders on custom work by 2/6 for Valentine’s Delivery though or it’s going to be You + IOU
Custom moleskine ($ Varies, Moleskine)
Of course you can have the outside of a Moleskine monogrammed or personalized, but we think it’s way cooler to customize the inside pages with photos and messages of your choosing. And for not a lot of money either–they start under $20.
Personalized wooden flask ($59.99, Woodchuck)
Woodchuck makes some of our favorite wooden iPhone cases, and now they’re branching out of tech with these gorgeously handmade stainless flasks covered with a real wooden finish from American cedar or rosewood. You can have the monogram right on the flask, or the case, or both. Or even upload your own image. And we just love that they’re all handcrafted right in Minnesota.
Custom Valentine’s Day scratch-off card ($9, Crank Bunny)
Personalized gifts don’t have to cost a fortune to have a lot of impact. We think this custom scratch-off Valentine’s card is so surprising and fun. You can choose one of about four messages perfect for Valentines’ Day, that are revealed when you take a coin to the card, lottery ticket style. Or you can even create your own provided it’s around 45 letters long. Be succinct! And check out other styles in the shop too.
Custom Simpsons style portrait ($35-120, Simpsons Art)
While it would cost far more for the Simpsons animators to create a custom portrait of you and your love, this German artist can do it rather inexpensively, then shoot you the PDF for your own printing. If you are the kind of person who would love to give this, and you find yourself with the kind of person who would love to get it, well congrats. That’s a match made in heaven.
