As cute as those little baby fingers and toes are, winter is coming, and it’s time for all those digits to go under wraps. If you’re looking to keep your little ones snug and warm in something really special, you’ve got to check out the eco-friendly and adorable handmade wool slippers and mittens for babies from Cate and Levi.

We’ve been gaga over Toronto-based Cate and Levi ever since we saw how the company took reclaimed wool, mainly from discarded sweaters that were destined for the landfill, and turned it into unique stuffed animals, incredible wall art, and even soft winter hats that are full of personality. It’s not only great for the environment, but it means you won’t find two that are exactly the same.

So we were excited to see that their line of wearables has expanded beyond our babies’ heads to also include their fingers and toes.  Made for babies 3 to 12 months old, the current line of handmade wool slippers includes a bunny, dog, pirate (and what an awesome pirate!), owl, plus outer space designs, and have with matching hats. They’re all lined in soft, cozy eco-fleece so no, they’re not itchy.  I wonder if they’d consider making me a giant set of footed pajamas to live in for the next few months?

Admittedly, these special, high-quality mittens, hats, and slipper are a bit pricey, because that’s what happens with handmade, one-of-a-kind accessories. I can see these slippers as a really special little holiday gift for a baby, or a worthy splurge for those of us who can’t head outside this time of year — or walk across the kitchen floor — without covering up.

You’ll find an adorable assortment of Cate and Levi handmade wool slippers, mittens, and hats for babies on their website.
