As we continue to navigate through this unchartered pandemic territory, it’s easy for us to think that this isn’t the time for play, levity, or romance. But as it turns out, those experiences are even more important now than ever, which is something we chat about with our special guest co-host Robert Wilder.

You might remember him from our special live Valentine’s Day episode, and well, he’s back to talk about Meet Cute, a short-form audio rom-com that goes from the meet cute to happily ever after in 15 minutes or less, and the work that they’ve been doing in supporting artists all over the globe, not to mention providing love (and some levity) for listeners, since their launch in February.

Plus, he shares why we need things like rom-coms during this difficult time, and… he talks to Kristen about the upcoming Meet Cute series “The Conference Hotel” that she wrote which launches today, with two more stories running Wednesday and Friday. Yay! Kristen shares what it was like writing fiction for the first time, and talks about why doing things that take you out of your comfort zone, especially during a pandemic, are so valuable.

About our sponsor: Cisco’s GPS: The Series

The animated online series teaching kids critical thinking skills, teamwork, collaboration, and action for social good | GPS: Global Problem Solvers (sponsor)

If you want to raise kids who are critical thinkers, you’ll want to check out GPS: The Series, a new animated series from today’s sponsor Cisco, which features a diverse team of teenage superheroes from around the globe (that’s the GPS), each representing a different skill set. But what’s cool is that they’re not fighting vampires or racing around to other planets. They’re more like regular, relatable smart kids who are taking on real-world social, economic, and environmental problems we face globally, and encouraging your kids to do the same.

It’s more than an animated series, it’s actually part of a complete educational program created by Cisco, and available free online to students, parents and educators. It’s designed especially to help kids learn to innovate as a technologist in an increasingly digital world, think like an entrepreneur, and act as a social change agent to bring more good to the world.

Trade coffee subscription, now for decaf lovers

Rob: Bone broth, which is another exciting pick from Rob, who says he tried to marry his original cool pick, the crockpot, with his cool pick from the last time, poetry. We’re hoping he sends us some in the mail, which apparently is a thing he does.

Kristen: I’m excited about Trade coffee’s new decaf subscription. Let’s hear it for the decaf lovers!
