I am so excited to share some of the spring 2022 nail trends I’m loving. Because when I decided to share my favorite winter nail trends a few months ago, I’ll be honest — had no idea it would be such a huge hit!
Maybe because of all the things that are seemingly out of our control right now, nail color is that one small thing we can have absolute control over. I mean your kids may be in quarantine and you are still wearing sweatpants every single day (and night), but hey, your nails can still be screaming “look at me! I’m super trendy and in control of my life!”
So, let’s keep that polish power going right into the spring with these 2022 nail trends we can absolutely get behind.
Besides, take a few minutes to do something nice for yourself – you deserve it.

Spring Nail Trend: Pantone Very Peri, their 2022 color of the year
When Pantone announced Very Peri as their color of the year for 2022, I was a bit giddy, because it’s my very favorite. They describe it as “A New Pantone Color Whose Courageous Presence Encourages Personal Inventiveness and Creativity.” and while I’m not going to paint my house Very Peri, I think some of that “courageous presence” may absorb right into my soul through my hot new spring nails.
A couple of brands that capture this spring 2022 nail trend:
– Nails.INC London is one of my very favorite nail polish brands for so many reasons. Their Soul Surfing nail polish from their Plant Power Vegan Nail Polish line is such a lovely hue, and is free from formaldehyde, acetone, parabens, plus it’s cruelty-free and halal friendly. Even more cool, Nails.INC donates to the Rainforest Trust for every Plant Power polish sold.
– Olive & June also has a fabulous take on Pantone’s color of the year in their “Bold & Unshaken” nail color that you can snag right at Target.
– And of course OPI always has a collection of amazing colors, but I think they nailed (ha) this spring nail color trend with with their “Show Us Your Tips” Nail Lacquer. It has a bit of shimmery sparkle swirled in with the lavender shade to keep it fancy for the runway — which is how I like to think of the sidewalk to school pick-up these days.
Spring 2022 Nail Trend: French Manicure with a Twist
Ah yes, the French Manicure. The one nail trend that never really seems to go away. But in 2022, while you can still opt for the basic pink nail with white tips, you can also go bold and totally mix it up — like these nails on my favorite Instagram nail inspiration account page: @oi_nail.
If you are thinking of doing your own French tips at home, be sure you grab this Silicone Nail Stamper. It makes the entire process so much easier! You can create round tips or even go with more geometric shapes like the blue ones featured in our winter nail trends post..

Spring 2022 Nail Trend: The Naked Nail
Habit Cosmetics vegan nail color
This spring, the naked nail or neutral nail is very much on trend. But as we know, we all look a bit different naked, so not all “nude” polishes are the same.
This Habit Cosmetics nail color in 01 Belle de Jour is perfect for my own medium skin tone, and has just a little iridescent pink shimmer that I love. Much like the Nails.INC brand I mention above, Habit’s vegan nail polish is free of Toluene, Formaldehyde, Parabens, and a lot more multi-syllabic chemicals I’d rather avoid. It also includes Myrrh extract int he formula to improve nail strength.
Zoya’s Louise cream nail color and Mented’s Brown & Bougie (above and at top) are lovely for darker skin tones.
For you OPI fans, there’s an entire line of OPI neutral and nude nail colors so that you can find the perfect match for your own skin tone.
If you want to just go completely color-free, add a touch of shine using Essie Expressie Quick Dry Nail Polish in clear. Kristen raves about it, and it gives you that natural spring nail trend, only with a little more polish, so to speak.

Spring Nail Trend: Press-On Nails and Nail Tips
Unicorn Marble Spectrum press-on nails from PopSockets
While nail stickers and wraps will still be a trend as they were this winter, press on nails are going to be more and more popular. They’ve come a long way since the 80s nails they may bring to mind (it wasn’t only me was it?), and there are so many fun styles, colors and designs that you could change them out weekly without ruining your nails.
These Unicorn Marble Spectrum nails above can be found at PopSockets — yes the same company that makes the PopSockets grips for our phones. I guess you could conceivably match your nails to your phone now, if that’s a thing?
I also have my eye on their Opal Press-On Nail Tips, because even with the silicone nail stamper I mentioned above, I am not sure I can pull of that clean French tip myself.
Static Nails receive terrific reviews for press-on nails, from beauty editors to regular users; people love that they can be reused, reshaped and even repainted, though they call theirs “pop-on nails.” There are so many fun styles from the Tortoise Shell nails to a Tortoise Shell French Mani to a coral color called Hot Girl Summer – which sounds like a party for my fingers, even when it’s still freezing outside.
And if you want to blend multiple spring 2022 nail trends in one, check out their Mademoiselle Coffin pop-on nails — they combine a natural look and a French manicure, updated with more of an ombré gradation instead of that hard line at the nail tip. Subtle and very cool.
