Jim Henson Idea Man starts streaming to Disney + subscribers on May 31, but since no one I know can wait that long, it’s a good thing that the Jim Henson Idea Man trailer just launched.
The original documentary is directed by Ron Howard, so of course it’s going to be perfect. But for now, I just have the Jim Henson Idea Man trailer to go off of. And that’s perfect too.
It features wonderful black & white stills and footage of Henson as a young puppeteer on public television stations; the creation of Kermit the Frog; clips from Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth; and loads of commentary from George Lucas to Frank Oz, Rita Moreno to Jennifer Connelly.
Fair Warning: At about 1:48 the opening strums of Rainbow Connection kick in and I’m not cr…oh…yes, I am.
I am definitely crying.
