We’ve noticed a sparkly trend in kids’ clothes this summer: stars. They’re everywhere! And they don’t even have to be sparkly. With Fourth of July weekend coming up, we’ve definitely had stars and stripes on the brain for our kids.
These cute baby clothes with stars are adorably festive without making your baby look like one of the floats in the neighborhood parade. Because too much stars and stripes and flag patterns can be, well . . . too much. (Not that babies don’t look cute in absolutely everything.)

We are huge fans of Tea Collection around here, and this summer’s Chandani trapeze dress (at top) is one of my favorites. That subtle all-over pattern means you can wear it way after the picnics and fireworks have ended. Plus, it’s on sale at a great price!
We’re mostly seeing all-over patterns, so I love the modern asymmetrical sprinkling of stars on this cute star patterned baby onesie from J. Crew. Perfect for any time of year — well, as long as you’re warm enough in short sleeves and bare legs.If this one is sold out (supplies are running low at time of posting), browse around the shop for their huge 30% off sale right now.
Our editor Liz’s girls have these star patterned bubble shorts from Baby Gap and love them — they come in big kid sizes too. They’re so comfortable and cute, but durable enough that you don’t have to worry that they’re going to get ruined if your child decides to, you know, have fun.
Since your baby is probably headed straight to bed after — or during — your cookout, go ahead and dress him up in these bright colored star-print pajamas from Hanna Andersson, who makes the beefy, durable PJs we love because they last forever. Plus, there’s no rule against staying festive even while you’re asleep.
Our bigger boys are loving these Camo-star swim trunks from Boden, and their baby brothers can look just as cool as they do. They go as small as size 1. Which is pretty freaking cute.
If your baby loves the Ramones and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, this Star print ruffle dress from Nununu is perfect for a little indie rocker. It’s on the pricier side, but she can wear it right into the fall and winter with a sweater and leggings. And of course — black baby biker boots. (Say that five times fast.)
Two piece outfits — like this mint green flutter shirt and leggings from Joah Love — are so easy on babies when it comes to diaper changes. But also, it gives you a chance to mix up the look. The tee is adorable with denim shorts or a skirt, and the star skirted leggings can go with any other plain t-shirt or onesie in your baby’s closet.
There’s really not much cuter than a baby in a fresh, new pair of PJs. These comfy star-print pajamas from Old Navy are perfect for winding down your evening to watch fireworks on a blanket in the park — or on the couch in front of your TV. (Psst, today only there’s a sale for 15% off everything in the shop!)
There’s no reason not to be completely glam for your Fourth of July party, and this chic romper with an all-over star print and adorable star-shaped sunglasses, both of which we found at Baby Gap, will give you some amazing pictures of your baby. Because, Instagram.
For a more sciencey take on the classic star t-shirt, the geeks in us can’t resist the supernova toddler t-shirt from CritterJitters on Etsy. Cute non-toxic, festive t-shirt design today…NASA career tomorrow.
Even though they’re not in stores just yet, we couldn’t wait to show you these adorable onesies and rompers from one of our favorites mom-run baby brands, aden + anais. Look for them on their site at the end of July. Because babies in cute star patterns look fabulous all year long.
