It’s no fun being that kid with food allergies who gets a chocolate Santa in your stocking, only to find your mom taking it away because there are no ingredients written on the foil. But it’s probably worse being that mom. So we’re happy to see more delicious Christmas treats each year, made with those very kids in mind.

Allergen-free Gingerbread House
From the conscientious and talented folks at Sensitive Sweets Bakery, there’s no gluten (tapioca flour does the trick), dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts or tree nuts. The gingerbread house kit $29 and for an extra $10, you can add a tub of allergen-free vanilla frosting and top-8-free, dye-free organic candies from Surf Sweets for extra decorating. They also ship allergen-free gingerbread men. Because…yum. Order by December 19.

Organic Candy Canes
Organic and candy cane may seem like two incongruous things until you think about all the dyes that go into making the ordinary kind. If your kids have food coloring sensitivities–and even if they don’t–Natural Candy Store has an organic version of the classic Christmas candy from TruJoy Sweets, that gets their mild flavor from natural peppermint, and their color from fruit juice. They’re also made in a facility free of all the major allergens. Ground shipping in 1-6 days; contact them for rush orders

Allergen-Free Chocolate Snowmen and Santas
We have been Divvies fans from our earliest days, when finding nut-free candy was no small task. Now this family-run candy company and bakery has grown from a few basic allergy-friendly treats to solid chocolate snowmen, chocolate trees, and of course those chocolate Santas. They contain soy, but their chocolate is peanut-free, tree-nut-free, dairy-free and egg-free, and all the ingredients are clearly spelled out on their website.  Order by 12/10 for free shipping on orders $50+. Standard shipping takes 7-10 days or contact them for express shipping options.

This was a great post! There’s a lot of us allergy families out here! I can also recommend Chocolate Emporium; we always order from them for Easter, Christmas and Halloween dairy-free and nut-free chocolates and candies.
