Australian brand Cotton:On Kids makes some really cool kids’ clothes, and they may have just outdone themselves with a new line of 100% cotton scratch n’ sniff tees, PJs, and accessories like a fun popsicle pencil case and jelly bags that all have this 70s child feeling really nostalgic. I mean, if I close my eyes, I can totally recall the smell of my album full of scratch n’ sniff stickers. Memories. Sweet, smelly memories. CMP is an rstyle affiliate Related: Bitchen! Though the Fourth of July may be the number one holiday of the summer, Shark Week comes in a close second. It’s pretty popular among our readership because our kids get a good excuse to watch an entire week’s worth of programming about our favorite toothy fish. And, for that reason, it’s become somewhat of an annual tradition to round up our favorite shark picks for kids. If your kids are big fans of sharks too, get ready to tune into the Discovery Channel starting this Sunday, and check out our top 10 shark picks we’ve hooked just for you. We’ve noticed a sparkly trend in kids’ clothes this summer: stars. They’re everywhere! And they don’t even have to be sparkly. With Fourth of July weekend coming up, we’ve definitely had stars and stripes on the brain for our kids. These cute baby clothes with stars are adorably festive without making your baby look like one of the floats in the neighborhood parade. Because too much stars and stripes and flag patterns can be, well . . . too much. (Not that babies don’t look cute in absolutely everything.) While I’m all for buying a few special items for my kids, like a crazy pair of polka-dot Doc Martens or some fun fuzzy vest they’re coveting, mostly their wardrobes consist of affordable basics that can mix or match with the rest. Like, 20 different pairs of black leggings. Which is why the new kids label, Primary, is the kind that will make parents ask, “where have you been all my life?!” Or at least all your kids’ lives. If they’re about ten and under. – Don’t miss a fantastic offer exclusively for CMP readers below – The goal of...Read More
According to that rascal of a groundhog last week, it looks like winter will be sticking around the Northeast for six more weeks. I’m pulling out my Silver Linings Playbook, and choosing to see it as an extension on snuggle parties with my youngster. And everyone knows that warm, comfy PJs are an absolute must for proper snuggling. So here are 6 cute and cozy — and above all, durable — pajamas for kids I love, from baby up to school age. We love that they are built to last (no holes in the knees after two wearings, yay!) and because...Read More
While we love finding the cutest baby clothes for showers (and our staff members who are going through some sort of group fertility thing this year) as our kids get older, we’re so happy to get to look for more cool clothes for older kids and tweens, who’ve aged out of the 0-6 lines. So we’re thrilled to have lots of both on our site this year, with tons of new brands, plus great new lines from brands we’ve loved for years. While this is always a tough one to narrow down, here are our picks for the coolest kids’...Read More
Compared to last year (holy Thanksgivukkah!), it may seem like we have tons of time to prep for Hanukkah, but I have a feeling that the time will fly. Quickly. Before we know it, we’ll be on the hook for eight crazy nights of festivities and, probably Hanukkah gifts for your kids, too. Of course, all of the toys and gifts in this year’s Cool Mom Picks gift guide make great options, especially our ideas for Baby’s First Hanukkah if you have a new baby or toddler. But for older kids, I’ve tracked down these great Hanukkah gifts for kids...Read More
We are loving all the bright colors and graphic patterns we’re seeing in kids fashion this winter, and now the organic kids pajamas from katebaby are making bedtime fun. They’re so stylish that we’re tempted to let our kids wear them outside the house as real clothes. They are that cute. These organic cotton kids pajamas run from newborn (with the footies) to 4/5 years old (in the tee-and-leggings version). My babies were always pretty high on that growth chart from the doctor–like 80th percentile big–so even though pajamas are supposed to be worn pretty snugly, I would have needed to order a size...Read More
Little Twig and Sparrow: A beautiful new line of kids pajamas that recognizes all colors are for all kids
It’s the first day of fall, and I can’t believe it but we’ve already broken out the cool weather pajamas this past weekend for the kids. The ones they wanted to wear first? The beautifully soft, pima cotton pjs from Little Twig and Sparrow. I can’t really blame them either. – Don’t miss a great discount below – I have been incredibly impressed with the quality and fit. Several spins through the washer/dryer and these long john style kids pajama sets still look and feel as good as new. I’m not even worried about the kids having impromptu Jedi light saber fights before bed in...Read More
I’m a sucker for cute packaging. Pair that with an even cuter baby outfit and you’ve got one adorable gift idea for any baby in your life who’s too young for chocolate Santas just yet. Jammies Prêt-à-Porter is an all-in-one gift for a stylish baby, coming in its own recycled, BPA-free plastic jam jar that can later be re-used for coins, crayons, and I suppose jam. But packaging aside, the real sweetness is in the contents inside the jar. Each adorable outfit is beautifully made in the U.S., and super soft and cozy for newborn or baby up to...Read More
Babies are warm and cuddly and thinking about them helps us conjure up images of teddy bears and pillowy clouds. Well, unless you actually have one and you know that in reality, babies have more bite than we give them credit for. So for the next baby shower, opt for something with some edge, like these shark baby pajamas from Black Wagon. After all, aren’t babies really at the top of the food chain in a way? Plus, like sharks, babies have the ability to fascinate and frighten us all in the same breath. –Eva Hatley Shark Footed Coveralls are...Read More
I admit, I can’t resist those special little baby layette items that force you to take, oh, 647 photos or so of your baby in rapid succession on your smartphone. How totally adorable is this pilot baby sleep set? (No need to answer. I know!) The 100% soft cotton sleep suit is cute on its own with the little stars and stripes on the sleeves, but then they add faux black lace-up “boots” and whoa. So fun. The finishing touch is the little baby cap with the 40s-era goggle print that would look great with the jammies or not....Read More
Why my kids have an obsession with sleepwear and pajamas I’m not entirely sure, but yep, obsessed pretty much sums it up. Over the years, I’ve learned to invest a little more in their pjs because I find the cheap stuff stretches and loses elasticity and pills and generally doesn’t hold up for long at all. Especially considering how often my kids want to wear them. I’m so happy to find the brand new line of kids pajamas–er, loungewear–from Skylar Luna. Made by super eco-conscious California designer Wen C. Reese, you’ll find both summer-ready short sets and long pajama...Read More
