This October, my youngest daughters will be turning 4 and 2 and as part of our family tradition, they will be wearing hand-me-down Courtney Courtney kids’ dresses. We first featured them in 2008 on Cool Mom Picks, and designer Courtney Chu has since remained one of our all time favorite indie designers, period. Well now, she’s decided to use her now hugely popular birthday dresses to raise money for charity. And we’re in love all over again.
If you’re not familiar with her work, Courtney whips recycled t-shirts and fabrics and turns them into the most amazing dresses unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Actually, we’ve seen quite a few copycats and none of them hold a candle to her eye for design, her impeccable tailoring, and her craftsmanship.
We’re not the only ones who love them, though. In fact, they’re so popular, she now sells them via email only, to an eager waitlist. But starting today she will be offering her fabulous birthday dresses on eBay auctions to support charity via eBay Giving Works.
Simply bookmark the Courtney Courtney eBay auctions page, and then check back frequently to see the numbers that have been added. If you’re interested, you can bid on your favorite–and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross. So amazing.
If there’s any question about how awesome they are, my soon-to-be 4-year old will be wearing the #4 dress that my oldest wore 4 years ago. Now someone find me a tissue. -Kristen
