Still trying to figure out that perfect, one-of-a-kind gift for that very, very special book lover in your life? Then hop on over to the Literature Lovers’ Holiday Auction by December 20. There, you can bid to win an incredible gift for someone on your holiday list: A character in an upcoming novel named in their honor.

And we aren’t talking about obscure tomes. No, these will be upcoming novels written by big-name authors you probably already love, like Anna Quindlen and Celeste Ng, among others. How cool is that?

Even cooler? All the proceeds from the bids will benefit Immigrant Families Together, an all-volunteer group that’s working to reunite immigrant families separated at the US border, as well as provide legal assistance, medical care, groceries, housing, and ongoing support.

It makes my heart grow three sizes just to know how many people are out there doing such important work on behalf of kids and families.

If you don’t have the budget to bid on the naming of a character in the Literature Lovers’ Holiday Auction, you can still bid on autographed titles from authors we love like Rebecca Traister, Dave Eggers, Kevin Kwan, and Meg Wolitzer, any of which would make a spectacular IOU holiday gift should you win.

Check out the current bids and authors in the Literature Lovers’ Holiday Auction.  But hurry! This auction will be going, going, gone very soon, with final bids due by Thursday, December 20th at 11pm EST.
