Ever since turning into the kind of a woman who wears slogan t-shirts with abandon (thanks, state of the world!) I have tried to work hard to know who the company is, and not just what the t-shirt says. That’s why I adore companies like Brave New World Designs, Free to Be Kids, and shopping the brands from this post about 30+ fierce feminist gifts, all supporting women-run shops and makers.

And now there’s one more to add to my increasingly overstuffed t-shirt drawer (sorry, Marie Kondo): the Skylar Yoo line of feminist tees from designer, mom, and former blogger (My Modern Met), Alice Yoo.

Hooray, she just started offering kids sizes and toddler sizes too!

You’ll find gorgeously designed, retro-inspired, incredibly soft cotton tees with slogans like Yes She Can (my favorite), Girls to the Front, Feminist, and Fearless Girl (my other favorite). They’ve got flattering scoop necks and slight drop-tail helm so they feel more fitted and stylized than your average “I printed this on a beefy tee and stuck it in my Etsy shop” tee.

There are also unisex Feminist shirts for adults and kids, for all those feminist boys we’re raising, who support the shocking (gasp) ideals of gender equality and opportunity for all.

As for sizing, note that while fitted, the tees are fairly ample. The company sent me a few to check out (knowing that this is 100% my jam), and while I’m liking my t-shirts large these days, the women’s M suited me just fine. It even has enough fabric leftover to tie the tee at the bottom and wear over a tank, if you like that summer look.

The kids’ sizes also are sizes long (in a good way) – my guess is that a YS fits like a 10-12. And did I mention they’re soft? SO soft!

Another thing to love: 20% of profits from every sale goes to support The Malala Fund to support girls’ education around the world, and to Bring Change 2 Mind, a non-profit founded by Glenn Close to help end the stigma and discrimination around mental illness.

I love this company so much, knowing that they are supporting women not just with slogans but with employment, donations, and Alice’s leadership and personal commitment to the two charities.

Thanks to the company for sending me a few tees knowing that I’ll wear them pretty much every day.
