The inspiring women of Fisher Price's Little People. Yes, you read that right

I’m already looking for ways to introduce my kids to inspiring women of history, and while we have tons of books on the subject of remarkable, inpspiring women, I love that Fisher Price’s iconic Little People is out today with two new sets of all-star, Inspiring women. In toy form.

After their success with lots of stars from pop culture they’ve introduced a set of Inspiring Women that includes huge legends Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Dr. Maya Angelou, and Sally Ride, all in tiny, kid-friendly sizes.

My kids are always asking me to “do the voices” for their toys, and these give me the perfect excuse to insert history and feminism lessons into our play times. Just wait until you hear about Amelia’s solo trip over the Atlantic, kiddos!

While surely there will be plenty of girlfriends you could gift these to, it really is a cool idea for kids too. Because it’s never too early to spark conversations about their achievements.

I think the Golden Girls figurines — complete with signature costume jewelry and perms for Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia — would make a perfect pick-me-up gift (in addition to one these funny cards!) for someone who needs to hear “thank you for being a friend,” especially after the last 18 months. Or as a reminder that aging is so much more fun when you do it with good friends.

Besides, how great would it be to have all four ladies settle into the Little People Playhouse together. Just like old times.
